Recently a friend
said they’d been busy at it
counting syllables
Welcome nom de plume
I brought all of who I am
and rejoiced for it
This poetic form
encourages connection
one word at a time
Come growing season
I’ll ground in my present
sense-abilities
The solstice sunbeam
streamed through our Sanctuary’s
annular window
As days grow longer
till the apex of next year
our moments at hand
In confidence, I
will go ahead and share this
vulnerable heart
