“PR0CESSING”

I am held in trust –
As to what becomes of us,
there’s time yet to tell ~

Hard to recognize
those attributes described in
History textbooks ~

Denialism
may not yet take hold of us –
might we stay awake ~

To borrow a phrase:
A shields-down approach conveys
that we come in peace ~

The atmosphere’s Cold –
So why are we not drilling
in our shared spaces?

I don’t mean to call
for more alarmist practice –
I simply wonder ~

In my mind, I am
a second-grader huddled 
underneath my desk ~
