Pause

I treasure this time:
pen to paper, hands to keys,
then cast to your screen.

Here in audience–
You who pause to read haiku
–are generations.

Sometimes things are hard
to boil down to substance;
it prompts further thought.

I try to cast wide,
and have an inkling of why
for most, but not all.

I am glad you’re here.
It builds my confidence that
this work is worth pause.

While I’m inexact,
I will keep creating space
for you to just think ~
